I'm writing this on a chilled Sunday the day after a hen do for one of my close friends. We went out in London and the drinks started flowing at 12pm sharp, she started with a Jamesons. I'm so tired today but feeling good after such a brilliant day out yesterday and the relaxing bath, face mask and pamper session I had as soon as I got home today. I don't know about all of you but I am not one to stay in bed unless absolutely necessary and today was no exception, even if it was to make myself feel a little more human again.
And here I am now revisiting this outfit that we shot last weekend and thinking about my current love for shirts. It's a piece that, until recently, I had strayed away from as my wardrobe became increasingly work clothing orientated due to my previous office job. I forgot what it was like to style a shirt casually and lost my own style identity for awhile (more on that in an upcoming post) but I'm starting to filter things back in. I've always liked to mix up my wardrobe a little and I'm really into the whole androgynous smart casual look at the moment. Mixing smart city shirts and tailored trousers with a big brand trainers, It's an easily achieved look and a comfortable one too.
I wore a shirt out in London yesterday for an easy day to night look and the shirt in this post is a classic white and blue striped number that I picked up in Primark. It's light and non fitted and will be perfect to see me into Spring. I like pairing it with my oversized black jumper (seen here) or with a comfy grey cardigan. This time however I decided to layer up with this gorgeous lace up jumper from Primark. I've actually seen this jumper all over instagram and I can't find it in my local store anymore, so I count myself lucky that I got it when I did. My black jeans are out as per usual and the look would not be complete without my Nike Air Max 1's (I wear them all the time!). This is definitely one of my go-to outfits at the moment and I feel like a high messy ponytail and a red lip just brings the look together.
